Favourite trail/track: Dirt Merchant, Whistler, Canada
About Duke:
I started riding bikes at 2 years old, dad had me straight on them because he was racing motorbikes and wanted to guide me in that direction. At the age of 7 I started racing BMX and did that for years until I found cross country mountain biking at the age of 11. It didn’t take me long to work out what downhill was and before I knew it, I was sending my hard tail down trails that I would cut in at the local hill after school. I saved up and bought my first downhill bike at 16 and never looked back.
I have goals in both the racing and free ride side of mountain biking. I am working towards my goal of being crowned King of the Crankworx World Tour. Another goal is to be invited to compete in Red Bull Rampage and the Fest Series events. I know I can achieve these goals by committing myself 100% and surrounding myself with supportive people who also believe in my goals.
When not on the bike I love to surf and go travelling up the coast to beaches far away and four-wheel driving to reach them.

Ellie Smith
Lives: Central Coast, Australia
Riding: Downhill, Enduro, Pump track
Favourite trail/track: Dirt Merchant, Whistler, Canada
About Ellie:
I began my sporting career as a dancer and acrobat where my highest level was National Champion. When I was fifteen, I began racing mountain bikes and haven’t stopped since! As a result, I have travelled to amazing places, met awesome people and have learnt many things including a growth in self-trust, confidence and passion I had not previously known.
It is my long-term goal to be crowned Queen of Crankworx. I believe that to be crowned ‘Queen’ means you are the most versatile mountain biker in the world and that is something I am striving for. It will take time and hard work to reach that point, but I am committed to the process.
I also compete in the Australian Downhill National Championships where it is my goal to place top 3. When not away racing I devote my time to training, competing at local races and coaching young riders and women.
When not on the bike I also enjoy surfing, welding, bush walks, camping, dancing, acrobatics, bouldering, tennis, cooking and reading.

Riley Smith

Lives: Tasmania, Australia
Riding: Enduro, Downhill and Cross Country
Favourite trail: Detonate,
Derby/ Zen garden, Maydena
About Riley:
I started riding bikes at around 11, racing the local cross country events on my Scott hardtail. After a while I really wanted to try a state enduro race and for my 12th birthday I got surprised with a brand new Scott dual suspension. Three weeks later and my dream came true and I got to race in my first enduro race. Surprisingly, I ended up coming 4th which I was really happy about and then soon realised that I loved racing enduro and wanted to try downhill. Fast forward three years and now I’m sitting at the top of my age category, under 17s. When I’m not riding I’m probably at school or working at my local bike shop, My Ride Launceston.
My goals are to one day be a pro racer at the Enduro World Series and to have a go at racing a world cup downhill race.

Sara Mills

Lives: Sydney, Australia
Riding: Race and ride for fun this year with my schedule, will go back to more seriously racing after my degree to put in 110% effort. Mostly enduro, starting to get into more jumping now.
Favourite trail/track: Ourimbah and the Northern beaches rocks and gnar! Love a good technical rock garden!
About Sara:
I have been riding since I was 16. I started out on the road and in XC, but never really found love until I started Enduro! I started riding Enduro at 21 and haven’t looked back. In the last 2 years I’ve managed to compete in the EWS and in Nationals and I hope, with some more training and experience in the sport, I can give the international circuit a go. I work full time, study in the night (commerce and entrepreneurship). I love coaching younger riders and hope to do that more in the future as well.
